OUR approach
Each consultation includes a personalized risk assessment based on destination, travel style, length of stay, and medical history. Patients receive evidence—based guidance on required and recommended vaccinations, malaria prevention, food and water safety, and strategies to reduce common travel—related health risks.
Collaborative care model
Travel medicine services at OttawaNPservices are delivered through a collaborative care model involving a licensed Nurse Practitioner and an experienced community pharmacist. This ensures comprehensive medical assessment alongside specialised expertise in travel vaccinations and medications.

The Nurse Practitioner provides a full medical review prior to travel, including medical history, chronic conditions, current medications, allergies, and individual risk factors, to ensure all travel recommendations are safe and appropriate for your overall health status.
What a travel nedicine consultation includes
Review of travel itinerary and destinations.
Preventive advice and documentation as required.
Destination—specific risk assessment and counselling.
Comprehensive medical and medication review by a Nurse Practitioner.
Vaccination review and administration by the pharmacist, when indicated.
Malaria prophylaxis and other travel—related prescriptions, when appropriate.
PHARMACY
Travel medicine consultations are supported by pharmacists of Stittsville Whole Health Pharmacy, who provides destination specific travel counselling, vaccination administration, and travel—related medication management.
