Episodic care is designed to address one specific concern per visit, with a focused history, appropriate examination, diagnosis, and a clear treatment plan, all within a single appointment.
ABOUT EPISODIC VISITS
Episodic care focuses on the evaluation and treatment of new or short-term health concerns. Unlike comprehensive primary care, episodic visits do not involve long—term condition management or multi—issue assessments. Each visit is structured around the concern you present with on the day.

Common Reasons for an Episodic Visit
Episodic visits are designed for concerns that arise unexpectedly or resolve within a short timeframe. The following are examples of the kinds of concerns that are well-suited to an episodic appointment, this list is not exhaustive.
Urinary tract symptoms or vaginal concerns.
Ear infections, eye infections, or sinus concerns.
Headache, back pain, or musculoskeletal injuries.
Cold, flu, sore throat, or upper respiratory infections.
Skin rashes, mild allergic reactions, or wound concerns.
Other new, short—term concerns requiring clinical assessment.
Gastrointestinal concerns such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

For ongoing conditions
If your concern is a chronic or long—term condition, such as diabetes, hypertension, or a recurring mental health issue, an episodic visit is not the appropriate setting. Please refer to our Chronic Disease Management or Mental Health services for structured, continuity—based care.
